My Dreams With The Seagulls Fly

Valentina Tereshkova was a Russian cosmonaut. She is the first woman to have flown in space as the pilot Vostok 6 on 16 June 1963 for 48 orbits of the Earth in her three days in space.

Her call sign in this flight was Chaika, it means Seagull in English. In Japan, it sounded romantic and the words "I am a seagull" became on everybody's lips at that time.
In 1966, at the last scene on the episode 10 "The Underground Super Express Goes West" for the sci-fi tv drama "Ultra Q", No. M1, a new-born sub-human said "I am a seagull" in space.

In 1997, Komputer released the song "Valentina" on the album "The World Of Tomorrow".

In 2005, Public Service Broadcasting released the song "Valentina" on the album "The Race For Space".

In 2005, Findlay Napier released the song "Valentina" on the album "VIP : Very Interesting Extras".

In 1982, Svetlana Savitskaya became the second woman to have flown in space as the cosmonaut on Soyuz T-7. She is the first woman to fly to space twice, and the first woman to perform a Spacewalk.

On the other hand, as for the United States, Sally Ride became the first American woman in space, in 1983 on The Space Shuttle Challenger.

Regarding Japanese, Chiaki Mukai became the first Japanese woman in space, in 1994 on The Space Shuttle Columbia.
