その語句は、現在のぼく達にあるその語感と多少ズレがある様に思われる。
小説集『少女地獄 (Girl Hell)』 [夢野久作 (Yumeno Kyusaku) 作 1936年刊行] の表題にある少女 (Girl) は、その作品を読むと大雑把に謂えば、10代後半から20代前半の女性の事であるらしい。そして、その小説のどの"少女 (Girl)"達もまた、 就学期間を終えた女性達である [その作品の中の1篇だけは学生時代から書き起こされてあるが物語の主となる事件は卒業直後、就職直前のモノである]。だからと謂って、オー・エル (Office Lady) と呼ぶのは似つかわしくはない。どれも専門職と呼ぶのに相応しいモノであるのだから。と、謂う辺りに着目してみれば、当時の女性とその労働環境と謂うモノもみえてくるのかもしれない。ちなみに、"少女 (Girl)"達は誰もが未婚。謂わば、現在ではその語句の使用が憚られる時もある結婚適齢期 (Marriageable Age) の彼女達なのである。 read a continuance of : "しょうじょじごく"
